Music Monday

Check in with Soccer Mom in Denial who started Music Monday and see who else is playing!

This is my first Music Monday:

There is a song that just makes me happy. I’m happy when I hear it, I’m happy when I sing it. I was introduced to it when I first watched the movie, You’ve Got Mail, with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. It just sets the tone to the entire movie--and it took no time at all for me to fall in love with it.

Once you’ve heard it, I think you’ll agree, you just have to smile and tap your toe. Have a listen. Also go to YouTube and do a search for other Harry Nilsson songs--he wrote “Everybody’s Talkin’ At Me” for the movie Midnight Cowboy, as well as “I Guess the Lord Must Be In New York City”, which was also in You’ve Got Mail.

Enjoy!

I love that movie too...and love the soundtrack! Now I'm adding these songs to my iPod on my way to work.

Have a nice week!

I am so glad you played along.

For several years the boys and I would hear on Seseame Street this little piano "ditty" about writing a letter. We finally discovered it was Fats Waller. I still love I'm Gonna Sit Right Down, and Write Myself a Letter.

A reminder of a great song... and a wonderful movie! I'm so glad you played along... (and if I had cooperative bandwidth, I'd play along, too!)

I love that song! And I have You've Got Mail - must have watched it a dozen times. My Music Monday is also dog-related - you must be reading my mind.

Isn't it funny how certain songs affect us? Nice song.

I LOVE Harry Nillson. In fact, my first, ever record that I bought with my own money was Nillson Schmillson. Great song!
