SINGULAR SATURDAY

The reason I read:
INFORMATION

Jenn in Holland inspired me to join in on her: Singular Saturday. If you pop over to her site, you can see who else is being "singular" today.

Only information? Not joy, journeys, inspiration? ;-)

Information gathering is a lot of what my reading today has been too. Next I am climbing back into my book for the escape part of reading!

No matter what reason, reading is wonderful!

Information is your middle name my dear but I know you like the joy of it too. (((HUGS)))

jen--I feel I learn something from everything I read--you learn about human nature, the human condition, about places, sometimes about science, the edge of the universe--so I don't mean strictly reading "how to" as much as I learn about life through books. And as a writer, I also read to see how other writers make the journey in their works from beginning, through the middle, the climax, and the ending.

jenn--as I was saying to jen, I feel we learn from everything we read. In fact, I think we learn as much about the human condition through humorous writing as we do reading a book by a leading psychologist. And YES, I like to escape too ;-)

SMID--yep, it's pretty grand--one of the cheapest ways to go around the world, or travel off-world!

jan--yep, you know me, I'm having the most fun when I'm learning something.

Well, information is power they say...so the more we read, the more powerful we are!? ;)

that's what a lot of mine has turned into lately too - but I've made myself get my hands on some good ol' fiction, even if only for my lunch break!

information is a nice to have...I think for me it comes second to joy and escape and journeys.

But I like to choose books about other cultures or historic books etc, as it's a great way to combine fun with learning!
